Favorite School Memory
I have many good memories. Looking back, the last few days of school every year have always been special and fun. We get to go outside and play games, stay in and play board games, or just talk. I also greatly enjoyed all the ESM trips I went on. In 9th grade, I did the Pennsylvania trip, in 10th I went to West Virginia, and last year I went to Costa Rica. I got to know the other students on all these trips and in WV and Costa Rica I got to serve God.

What is something you’re passionate about?
I am passionate about medicinal plants. After college, I want to work on contributing to the scientific validation of natural medicine. I believe that, because humans are imperfect and sinful, our medicines can only be so effective, but since our perfect God made plants, they are better medicines.

People who have been an inspiration to you
My parents, my friends Hope and Gideon. My teachers at Calvary have also inspired me. They are all strong followers of Christ and genuinely care about us.

Bible verse that has had a strong impact on you
Romans 8:37-39 (ESV): “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Most impactful high school activity
I have really enjoyed doing drama. Many of my fondest school memories are from drama, and it has helped me get out of my comfort zone.

Current Plans for after you graduate
I want to major in plant sciences and minor in chemistry or pharmacy.

In what way has your time at Calvary Christian School helped shape your worldview?
Coming to school gave me insight into what a Christian education is like in a school setting instead of an at-home one. I have made many friends and have been here long enough to get a taste of the amazing community God has allowed Calvary to nurture. I am excited to come back and watch my younger siblings in school activities. I will not forget Calvary.

Any advice for
My advice to younger students would be to show the love of Christ to all their peers. We should remember that every person on this planet is an image bearer of God. This is regardless of their backgrounds, personalities, or any quirks they might have. Jesus loves everyone, and we should strive to be like him in that way. Be kind while using biblical discernment in your relationships. Stay open to friendships with everyone; you may build a friendship with someone you never expected. Jesus said in Matthew 7 that treating others the way we want to be treated is one of God's greatest commandments.
