The Calvary Way: Building a Christ Centered Christian School Culture Through Scripture

January 13, 2026
By Ben Moore

As Calvary Christian School continues to grow, one of the questions we ask often is this:
How do we protect what makes our community feel like home while also growing in wisdom, grace, and unity?

The answer is not found in a new set of rules or a document that replaces Scripture. God has already given us everything we need in His Word. Instead, The Calvary Way is our intentional effort to let Scripture shape how we speak, how we listen, and how we walk through even the hardest conversations together.
At Calvary Christian School, we believe a healthy Christian school culture is built through shared biblical values, Christ-centered communication, and strong family partnership. The Calvary Way is our commitment to living out Scripture together in everyday conversations, decisions, and relationships across our school community.

This is not doctrine.
This does not supersede Scripture.
This is Scripture applied.

Scripture First: How the Bible Shapes Our Christian School Culture

The Bible is our authority. The Calvary Way simply helps us season our conversations with biblical truth so that correction becomes discipleship, boundaries become care, and difficult moments become opportunities for growth.

“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
Colossians 4:6 ESV

Hard conversations are inevitable in any community. Scripture never avoids this reality. Instead, it calls us to speak truth in love, pursue reconciliation, and seek wisdom before reaction.

“The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits.”
James 3:17 ESV

That wisdom is what we are pursuing together.

A Shared Commitment for the Entire Christian School Community

The Calvary Way is not just for administrators.
It is not just for teachers or staff.
It is not just for parents or students.
It is for all of us.
Administrators. Teachers. Staff. Parents. Students. Families.

We believe a healthy culture is built when everyone shares the same expectations for how we treat one another, especially when we disagree, feel frustrated, or need clarity.

“Bear with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”
Colossians 3:13 ESV

This shared language helps us slow down, listen well, assume the best, and seek understanding before judgment.

Grace Over Perfection in a Faith Based School Community
Let us be clear. We do not expect perfection from our families.

We are parents. We are busy. We are human.
And so are we as a staff.
The Calvary Way is not a measuring stick used to point fingers. It is a reminder we return to when we fall short. Grace is not weakness. Grace is obedience.

“For the Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.”
Psalm 103:8 ESV

Why Biblical Culture Matters in a Growing Christian School
This is not a response to a problem.

As our school grows, our Calvary Christian family community, including staff, students, parents, and extended families, now represents around 2,200 people. With growth comes more relationships, more communication, and more opportunities for misunderstanding.

Scripture reminds us that community does not stay healthy by accident.

“Be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Ephesians 4:3 ESV

Hear the Heart Behind The Calvary Way

For families who want to hear the heart behind this commitment in a more personal and conversational way, we invite you to listen to a podcast episode featuring Principal Tony Carter and Principal Marissa Smith.

In this conversation, they walk through the biblical foundation of Christian school culture, Christ centered communication, and how healthy relationships shape discipleship across our school community.

As shared in a recent podcast conversation:
“Relationships are really the foundation of Christian education. We are the body of Christ, and that shapes how we communicate with one another and how we resolve differences.” – Tony Carter

An Invitation and a Promise

The Calvary Way reflects our belief that Christian education is not only about academic excellence, but about forming hearts through discipleship, relationships, and Christ honoring communication.

This is a shared commitment, one that I personally strive to live out. If you ever feel I fall short, I invite you to hold me accountable.

“So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.”
Romans 14:19 ESV

Thank you for committing to us and for helping make Calvary Christian School a place where Christ is honored not just in what we teach, but in how we love one another.
