School Activities and Awards:
Varsity Volleyball, ASB Vice President, Key Club Secretary, Mentoring, NHS member, Drama, and Spartan Group Leader
Favorite School Memory:
I have so many, but if I had to talk about only one, it would be when I played scatter ball my freshman year. That game was played almost every day in gym class in 7th and 8th grade; it quickly became a class favorite. I remember we would always do boys against girls with occasional allies between the teams. Scatter ball was always a highlight of my day, and it never failed to give me some more good memories.
Something I’m Passionate About:
I can talk forever about Jesus and the Holy Spirit; that, mixed with the topic of other countries and people groups, is my favorite conversation. I also love hearing about other people’s passions and getting excited with them in that.
People Who Have Been an Inspiration to Me:
My Nana has always been one of the biggest inspirations to me. No matter what life throws at her or what she goes through, she will always serve others and seek after God’s heart. It never fails to amaze me when she consistently loves on others.
Bible Verse That Has Had a Strong Impact on Me:
Proverbs 3:5–8 is actually a verse I found recently that has really opened my eyes about some things. It calls us to lean on God, fear the Lord, and submit to Him in everything. In the end, it tells us that if we do that, it will be nourishing to our soul and refreshing to our bones.
Most Impactful High School Activity:
So far, the most impactful class was College and Career. Not only did it teach me so many skills for life, but it also taught me how to turn everything I do to glorify the Lord.
Current Plans After I Graduate:
There are many pathways I can take after high school. Right now, I want to be a chiropractor so I can go overseas and help people there. I’m trusting in God and asking for prayers in clarity in which path I should take.
How Calvary Has Shaped My Worldview:
It helped me see and understand that, no matter where you are, people need help in their walk with God, even me. It showed me that you can’t ever have things perfect, and things need to mess up so we can see where we need to fix them.
Advice for Students Entering High School:
Don’t stress yourself out too much, trust that God is guiding you. Get involved but make sure you know what is of most importance to you and requires your full attention daily. Find those who encourage you and make you better as a person. As you grow up, you’ll understand what you thrive in, struggle with, and want to work towards. Don’t let failure hold you back, but try things first then decide whether it’s worth your time or not.
